A day at the races at IRT Moruya Care Centre
14 November 2011
The Melbourne Cup was celebrated in style at IRT Moruya Care Centre.
This year’s race day was greeted with much excitement by residents, with ladies wearing brightly coloured hats mingling alongside staff wearing incandescent jockey silks.
While the main race, the Melbourne Cup, attracted its usual level of interest, the most popular race of the day was undoubtedly the IRT Moruya Care Centre Cup.
The IRT Moruya Care Centre Cup required staff to compete by walking around a track. The proud staff member to win first prize was Lenore Newman, and she freely admits that she won purely by default (through cheating).
Care Centre resident Marj Ralph deserves special recognition for her contribution to the success of the day. Marj designed and made each staff member a complete set of jockey silks.
