A Day of Indulgence
25 August 2011
It was a day of pure chocolate indulgence at IRT Crown Gardens Care Centre in Batemans Bay last week (August 17) as resident chocoholics took part in a chocolate-themed day.
Afternoon tea was presented on a brightly adorned table, stacked to the ceiling with chocolate culinary delights. The chocolate fountain was very popular, with many participants returning for second and third helpings.
The event was organised by the Care Centre Lifestyle Officer Sue Tuchel and was much anticipated and well attended by residents.
IRT Area Manager – Eurobodalla Helen Spence said Sue wanted to thank everyone who got behind the event and contributed with a plate of chocolaty sweets, chocolate fudge, chocolate crackles, handmade chocolates, chocolate cake, chocolate worms and more.
If you would like to become a part of the fun at IRT Crown Gardens, Leanne O'Neill, the IRT Lifestyle Services Manager for the Eurobodalla, is currently seeking to recruit volunteers.
While experience with seniors is an advantage, it is far from essential and all training is provided. All volunteers are required, at IRT’s expense, to have a Crim Check and obtain a clearance to work with seniors.
The perfect volunteer is a good listener, responsible, warm and empathetic, with a great sense of humour. If this sounds like you, please phone Leanne O'Neill on 0400 506 084 during business hours.
