Call out for volunteers for My Story Matters at IRT Dalmeny
5 August 2011
WOULD you like to make a difference to an IRT Dalmeny resident’s life?
If so, the My Story Matters Group is expanding and is looking for people interested in interviewing older people, and being involved in a fun group which supports and encourages all participants.
My Story Matters allows residents and their families to share their stories through narrative, reminiscence and photographs.
The next My Story Matters volunteers’ workshops will be held on August 24 and 31 and are called “The Moment Behind The Photo”, with Vanessa Milton from ABC regional radio.
If you would like to volunteer in aged care, have got time to attend regular educational and support meetings, would like training in active listening skills and enjoy having a laugh this could be for you.
To apply for a volunteer’s position with the My Story Matters program contact IRT Dalmeny Welfare Officer Kate O’Leary on 4476 6000 or email koleary@irt.org.au by Wednesday, August 17.
