IRT wins national service excellence award

Leading lifestyle and care provider IRT was announced as a national winner at last night’s Customer Service Institute of Australia (CSIA) 2011 Australian Service Excellence Awards ceremony in Darling Harbour.
IRT took out the national award in the not-for-profit category and this year was the first time IRT entered the awards.
IRT Chief Executive Nieves Murray said the win was a wonderful achievement and an acknowledgement of the customer service journey IRT has been on over the past four years. “We have been driving consistently exceptional customer service experience throughout IRT,” Ms Murray said. “Our staff embraced this initiative.”
Ms Murray said quality customer service was vital to IRT’s success.
IRT’s next step will be to gain accreditation under the International Customer Service Standard by 2013.
The Australian Service Excellence Awards aim to: recognise excellence, best practice and innovation in customer service and to highlight their importance in today’s business climate; promote customer service as a profession and to improve the level of its practitioners’ professionalism through assessment, accreditation, certification and recognition; promote the International Customer Service Standard (including customer charters), which help organisations develop and sustain a customer ethos through improvements to the design, delivery, quality and effectiveness of customer service strategies, policies and systems; and improve knowledge of the components of customer service excellence.
The winners were chosen from a field of Australia’s most successful customer service organisations and other winners on the night included Telstra, American Express and Optus.
CSIA Executive Director Brett Whitford said this year marks the 10th anniversary of the CSIA Australian Service Excellence Awards and the quality and number of entries in 2011 exceeded previous years.
