The specific duties will vary depending on the role, but IRT Catering employs chefs, food preparation and hospitality employees, nutritionists, delivery drivers and other health professionals who are committed to safely providing nutritious meals to our residents and customers. You may be ordering stock, creating recipes, preparing meals, cleaning or delivering the end product to our aged care centres.

What experience do you need for a job with IRT Catering?

The amount of experience required to work in hospitality at IRT depends on the position and its related job duties. Our catering team is highly diverse and ranges from less experienced roles such as delivery drivers and kitchen hands to more experienced roles such as nutritionists and chefs. Be sure to check the position description to understand the level of experience required for specific roles.

Do I need a certificate to work in hospitality?

It depends on the role. For some senior roles, there are no required qualifications, but it’s common to complete certain training and it’s certainly highly valued. For example, chefs typically complete an apprenticeship or a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and qualifications in Food Safety Supervision.
