Dear family member/resident representative,
I’m writing to let you know that a small number of residents have tested positive to COVID-19 at your loved one’s care centre.
The residents live in the Bottlebrush wing on level two of the care centre and are experiencing mild symptoms such as sneezing. The residents are regarded as stable and are being encouraged to remain in their rooms as we monitor them closely in consultation with their GPs.
In response to these positive cases we have implemented our outbreak management plan, which includes a range of infection control protocols to minimise the risk of the virus spreading within the care centre.
We have also implemented a routine testing regime to ensure we detect any other cases as soon as possible. If your loved one returns a positive result, we will let you know by phone and continue to provide you with a daily update regarding their progress.
As a precautionary measure, staff and all visitors, including children, are required to wear a P2/N95 mask and face shield on level two of the care centre. These will be provided on entry. Please note: the P2/N95 mask and face shield must be worn at all times and in all places on level two of the care centre – this includes residents’ rooms.
You can find more information about our visiting arrangements on our website here.
Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, even if your symptoms are mild. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have another type of infection which is highly contagious.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Debbie Andrews
